South Korea has set ambitious targets to reduce its reliance on fossil fuels and achieve carbon neutrality by 2050. Offshore wind power is expected to play a crucial role in this transition, with the government aiming to increase its offshore wind capacity to 14.3 GW by 2030, accounting for 20% of the country's total power generation.

Within the ecosystem, offshore vessels play a crucial role in the development of the offshore wind industry as the availability and suitability of offshore vessels can significantly impact project timelines, costs and safety. At PKR Offshore Co., Ltd., we are very excited about the huge potential in the Korean market as we look at bringing our specialized wind vessels, vast offshore wind experience and extensive track record, into this new market to support our major wind clients in their pipeline of projects in the coming years.

Together with our local partner, NSEL in Korea, we welcome the arrival of our new CTV “MP Corus 태이” in Busan as we prepare the vessel for her maiden deployment in the commissioning of a new offshore wind farm off Mokpo in the coming months!

Building a Greener Future Together.
